Use the Web to Manage Interfaces and NAI


The WebNAI™ application from The Menon Group, Inc. brings the ease-of-use of the Web to the GE Centricity® Enterprise (formerly IDX Carecast or LastWord) Network Application Interface (NAI) module. WebNAI frees your staff from manual tasks to enable them to monitor and maintain interfaces more efficiently. Its intuitive, Web-based user interface is so much easier to use than the standard NAI application that customers have likened switching to WebNAI to going from DOS to Windows.

As an extension of NAI, WebNAI provides greater control and flexibility for managing interface throughput, correcting errors and analyzing data from the NAI database. WebNAI lets you automatically correct or delete certain errors, distribute error correction to the responsible departments, and notify appropriate staff via email or pager of events that need attention. At the same time, message editing is faster and more accurate using WebNAI’s on-screen forms. With WebNAI, you can reduce the time required to maintain interfaces while increasing accuracy and efficiency across your interface management functions.

  • Automatic Error Correction at Sharp HealthCare. Sharp lets WebNAI handle a variety of errors automatically. For example, WebNAI helps keep the master patient index in sync by intercepting errors related to patient number merges, automatically creating the necessary mini-registration in Carecast and resubmitting the messages for processing by the ADT interface.
  • Automatic Message Deletion at UVa Health System. UVa takes advantage of WebNAI’s automatic error handling. For example, WebNAI automatically deletes specific, unnecessary error messages. Because not all systems require the same information updates, UVa allows WebNAI to automatically delete certain errors to save interface staff from working those errors manually.
